The works in this section show a variety of media, along with varying levels of academic content and learning.

In Art Foundations, students practice and learn to basic concepts like using value to describe form, color mixing. control and manipulation, how to combine materials, and how to devise ideas from observation and inspiration, just to name a few.

In the mid-level classes like Painting, Drawing, Digital Photography, and Ceramics, students focus in on a more limited range of media, while honing their skills. Students are challenged much more to push the boundaries of what they think is possible.

Our third level course is our most advanced: Studio. Students who take studio have the opportunity to bring their strongest skills into the course, while also further developing in other creative areas. Students must go through the proposal submission and approval process for each project before beginning, and are expected to create their own visual references. Students in the class are often planning to pursue the arts in their future, but also can include those who just enjoy it as a personal interest.
